As this year's Great British Bake Off passes the half-way point of season 7, we're all turning our attention to what the next series will be like on Channel 4. Or, more importantly, who will be filling in as the new judge and hosts.

Numerous reports stated that Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders were the big favourites to replace Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins as the next Bake Off presenters. Meanwhile, it was also reported that celebrity chef Delia Smith would be replacing Mary Berry.

However, a spokesman for Channel 4 has confirmed that the rumours aren't true and nobody has been asked regarding the jobs yet.

He said, 'We are taking our time to find the right presenters and judges for Bake Off.

'We have not approached anyone about the roles.'

The channel was forced to deny the rumours after a source told The Sun, 'The bosses want a real baking legend to replace Mary and Delia is topping the list there, as her cookery books are an absolute kitchen staple.

'And Dawn and Jennifer would be a dynamite signing. Not only are they absolutely hilarious, but they have wonderful chemistry.'

Dawn also took to Twitter to rubbish the rumours after a fan account tweeted the rumours.

She wrote, 'oh REALLY?! You are believing the papers?!'
