Having been on the ABC morning series since May 2005, folks know the news anchor to deliver the latest in current events and pop culture. But what about when Robin isn't sitting at the iconic news desk alongside Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos?
Viewers may notice that Robin isn't on the air today, Wednesday, August 20. Well, Robin actually revealed the reason behind her absence—and fans are going to want to know what's going on.
Why isn't Robin Roberts on Good Morning America?
As it turns out, there's a good reason Robin isn't on our screens. Posting an explanation on Instagram ahead of her TV absence, the host announced she would be working on an undisclosed assignment for the rest of August.
"Good morning! With Glam Fam before we head out on assignment again," she wrote alongside a video of herself on August 19. "Not back in studio until after Labor Day. We miss you already! Before we see you in September (love that song!) we’d like to share with you our #tuesdaythoughts #cmon."
Upon learning that Robin would be out of office for a work assignment, many took to the comments to wish her good luck on the prospect.
"Love the glam fam cheery morning energy ❤️❤️ Safe travels fam!!" one person penned. "Amen 🙏🏻 You and everyone on GMA are amazing God bless !!! Travel safely ❤️❤️," another stated. "Amen and travel blessings to you and the Glam fam team 🫶🏼," a different follower added.
Even though things are under wraps for now, we can count on Robin to give clues about what she's up to on social media in the meantime. And as for when Robin will be back on GMA ...
When is Robin Roberts returning to Good Morning America?
According to Robin, she will be off the air of Good Morning America until after Labor Day. Meaning: the earliest folks could see Robin again is on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 on ABC.
Needless to say, we'll definitely miss seeing Robin on our screens!
