On a quest for a better night’s rest? You’re not alone. Good Housekeeping's annual sleep survey found that a whopping 73% of readers struggle with the quality of their sleep. In fact, 48% don't get the recommended seven to nine hours and only 5% consistently sleep through the night.
From the best mattress and pillow sprays to sleep teas and trackers, 70% of respondents told us they'd tried sleep-enhancing products to help them catch more Zs. But with so many sleep aids out there, all promising sweeter dreams, how do you know which ones are actually worth the investment?
That’s where the Good Housekeeping Institute comes in. We donned our fluffiest dressing gowns and got to work trialling the best sleep gadgets on the market.

To find the best sleep aids, we asked our panel to try a range of gadgets, using them over a few nights before reporting back on how easy the were to use, how comfortable they were, and whether they actually helped them sleep better.

Prior to joining the Good Housekeeping Institute, she worked as a personal trainer, writer and fitness instructor for some of London’s most prestigious health clubs, including The Harbour Club, David Lloyd and The Chelsea Club. Passionate about women’s health and fitness, especially in pre/post menopause, she is also a Level 4 PT and holds a professional nutritional qualification.
