After lots of speculation and high hopes, The Crystal Maze's revival has been confirmed after reaching its £500,000 crowdfunding target.
The cult nineties show will return as a ‘live interactive experience’ with teams of eight battling it out to defeat a series of challenges, with the guidance of their Maze Master – but the difference here is that you get to play.
‘You’ll get to play the maze just as contestants did on the original show – placing you at the centre of the action. What we really want, is for people to live the magic of the hit television programme for themselves,’ reads their crowdfunding page on Indiegogo.

The set will be an exact replica of the original show, complete with the four famous zones; Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic, Jailbreak for those that fail to complete their challenge, and of course, The Crystal Dome.

Though the experience comes at a price. Those that pledge £45 towards the event are able to take on the maze (though you can be teamed up with friend if they pledge individually, too), while £300 will get you and 7 friends in to compete as a full team. And a staggering £10,000 will allow you to book out the maze for an entire day.
The venue will also offer a bar, rotating street food partners and a viewing platform for contestants to enjoy after the show. Here, you can watch fellow contenders frantically debate; ‘I’m coming out’, ‘should I come out?’, ‘Come out!”. While it has been confirmed that the experience will be based in London, the exact location still remains a secret.
