Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have asked their wedding guests to make a donation to charity in place of traditional gifts, but it's likely that the Queen will acknowledge her grandson's nuptials with a lavish present of her own.
The monarch is expected to present the newlyweds with a home, just like she did for Prince William and Kate Middleton. Two years after their wedding, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were gifted Anmer Hall - a large country house on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk - ahead of the birth of Prince George in 2013.

For now, Harry and Meghan have been setting up their home in Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace, but it wouldn't be surprising if the Queen continued her tradition of allotting one of her properties to her family members.
"The Queen has a habit of giving property," says former royal editor and Prince Harry biographer Duncan Larcombe. "She gave Prince Andrew Sunninghill Park, Prince Charles was given Birkhall and William and Kate were gifted Anmer Hall. So there's every chance that Harry and Meghan might find themselves the proud owners of a nice property outside of London."
While it's not yet clear where it might be, York Cottage in Sandringham is "most likely" says Larcombe. Once lived in by King George V and Queen Mary, the property is currently used as royal offices, according to The Telegraph, and is steeped in royal history. It would also allow Harry and Meghan to be close to William and Kate, who use Anmer Hall as their private country retreat.
And a property isn't the only gift Harry and Meghan will receive. There's also the not-so-small matter of their new titles.
"They will be given a dukedom," Larcombe adds. "For Meghan – that’s her crowning as a royal." The current title predictions currently include Sussex and Clarence, but it's likely we'll have to wait until 19 May before we find out how to formally address the happy couple.
