It may have been one of the best moments from 2016's Birthday celebrations – and thanks to one eagle-eyed viewer, it was brought to everyone’s attention.

According to a video circulating the internet, it appears that Prince William got a telling-off from the Queen.

While the family gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony, Prince William knelt down to speak to his son, Prince George.

But as the fly-past was under way, it looks like the Queen swiftly tells him to get up.

Journalist Brandon McGinley shared the clip on Twitter, writing, ‘Come for the Queen scolding William, stay for the George facepalm.’

As any of us would do after receiving a telling-off from grandma, Prince William appears to stand up straight quickly.

This isn't the first time William has got into trouble with his grannie.

During an interview for a documentary called The Queen At 90, the Prince recalled an incident that landed him in hot water.

He said: 'We were chasing Zara around who was on a go-cart, and Peter and I managed to herd Zara into a lamppost and the lamppost came down and nearly squashed her and I remember my grandmother being the first person out at Balmoral, running across the lawn in her kilt.

'She came charging over and gave us the most almighty b******ing, and that sort of stuck in my mind from that moment on.'

Seems like he got off lightly on the balcony.

And can we also take a moment to appreciate how quickly Prince Harry looks up at the sky when the Queen taps William’s shoulder?

He must have been relieved that the scolding was directed at his brother for once!
