The baby boy is her first child with partner Erik Torstensson, a 38-year-old photographer.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Natalie said: ‘Erik and I are so proud and happy to welcome to the world our much longed for addition to our family and our first son-- Jet Everest Torstensson.

‘Jet was born September 15th in Los Angeles and came into our lives with the most generous help from our surrogate.

‘We are grateful to our friends and family for their incredible support and affection.’

While Jet is Dame Natalie’s first son, she has two daughters from her former marriage to French hedge fund manager Arnaud Massenet: Isabella, 17 and Ava, 11.

Massenet was originally a journalist, before spotting a gap in the market to sell designer fashion online. She launched Net A Porter in 2000 before selling it in 2015.
