Despite temperatures dropping, festive food ranges hitting the shelves and holiday shop windows already on display; a lot of people would agree that the countdown to Christmas doesn't begin until the John Lewis advert drops.
While we’re left wondering what on earth it could be every year (who could’ve predicted that a man on the moon would reduce us to tears?!), a lot of people reckon they’ve figured out one major feature of this year’s ad: the song.
So who will the honour go to?

Well, a lot of people are guessing (and hoping) that John Lewis will use a cover of a David Bowie song for its 2016 festive advert.
Some are also predicting that the song of choice will be Bowie's Heroes and that it will be sung by Take That.

Bowie died in January 2016 from liver cancer. He had been diagnosed 18 months earlier but did not make his illness known to the public.
His death shocked the world and led to numerous murals and street shrines to the late star popping up around the globe in honour of his music.
While John Lewis are returning tight-lipped about when the advert will air, many predict that we can expect to see iton Thursday 10 November.
Here's hoping the department store give the people what they want!
