A whole new generation will be introduced to Louisa May Alcott's classic novel Little Women in an upcoming BBC One series.
The Beeb is partnering on this ode to sisterhood with esteemed writer Heidi Thomas, who certainly has experience dramatising the themes of sisterhood in her BBC One hit Call the Midwife.
Although both are period pieces, Little Women's setting is on the outskirts of the American Civil War in the 1860s rather than the hospitals of London in the late 1950s.

This three-part series is the moving journey of sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March through the trials and tribulations of adolescence, first love and life during wartime.
'Little Women is one of the most loved novels in the English language, and with good reason,' Heidi Thomas said yesterday.

'Its humanity, humour and tenderness never date, and as a study of love, grief and growing up it has no equal. There could be no better time to revisit the story of a family striving for happiness in an uncertain world, and I am thrilled to be bringing the March girls to a new generation of viewers.'
Little Women has been adapted many times since its 1868 publication for the stage, the big screen and the small screen. Perhaps most famous was a 1994 Gillian Armstrong film starring Susan Sarandon, Kirsten Dunst and Winona Ryder.
In addition to airing on BBC One in the UK, US viewers will be able to see Little Women as part of PBS's Masterpiece series.
