When Geri Horner quit the cult 90s band Spice Girls, it caused huge disappointment for fans the world over.
Now, decades later, the group’s Ginger Spice, Geri, is speaking about her decision to quit the band, and it seems she might have some regrets…
In an interview with the BBC, Geri was asked if, looking back, she would stand by her decision to quit the band.

‘Erm… Would I have left? It depends.’

She went on to explain just why she decided to leave the Spice Girls in the height of the group’s success.
‘They wanted to make an R&B album,’ Geri said.
‘Am I a big R&B fan? Not really. I'm a pop writer. I felt comfortable in that genre and it felt completely alien to me to sing in that R&B style.
‘My departure almost set them free a bit, and allowed them to make that album [Forever, recorded with Rodney Jerkins].
‘So I don't regret it. Part of life is change.’

In the interview, Geri also spoke about the pros and cons of becoming so famous at a young age.

‘When you're in the middle of it, you just sort of get on with it,’ she said.
‘What you think about something and what it turns out to be is never going to be quite the same. Some bits are better, some bits are not. But it was a very happy, fun, full-on experience.
