The National Television Award-nominated period drama will continue to dramatise the early years of Queen Victoria's reign, with former Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman back on the throne.
Back in December, Jenna revealed that she would be back at work filming the show in February.
'It's really exciting,' she added. 'There's so much story. It's a case of pacing it and working out where to go with it.'
She also chatted with Digital Spy late last year, saying she was confident that there's enough history to draw on for at least a few more series.
'There's obviously a great amount of potential, we've covered in series one the first three years of her reign,' she said.
'We end the series with the first birth and that's the first of nine children to come. It's a story waiting to be told. We've not even got to the Great Exhibition, there's a lot to cover.'
