While they looked like the happy five-piece girl band promoting girl power, it turns out that one member of the Spice Girls wasn’t quite so thrilled (ahem, Victoria Beckham).

During a talk at the Vogue 100 exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, the now fashion designer admitted that producers actually used to switch her microphone off because her singing was so bad.

Talking to Claudia Winkleman, she said, ‘They used to turn it off and just let the others sing. I got the last laugh – and now my mic is well and truly on, finally’.

However, don’t feel too sorry for Victoria. Being in the role of Posh Spice meant that she had the biggest clothing budget.

She added, ‘I was always the one that loved fashion and it was quite a result for me because the girls always used to get their clothes for free because they were c**p and so there was a lot of budget for me to have my little Gucci dress.’
