There’s no excuse whatsoever for fat-shaming, and it’s a shame that some people still think it’s okay to yell abuse at an complete stranger about the shape of their body.
Sadly, that’s exactly what happened to 26-year-old Lindsey Swift while she was out jogging with her boyfriend, Ryan (pictured above). The couple were training for their first 10k, in a bid to increase their fitness, when a man hanging out of a white van started singing Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) by Mika at Lindsey.
Offended, but undeterred, Lindsey continued jogging. When she got home, she decided to take to Facebook to write an open letter to this vile stranger. And the letter, in which she urges the man to ‘engage your brain before opening your mouth’ has made such an impact on so many people that it has gone viral.

And we can see why, because it’s absolutely brilliant, and will make anyone who had ever considered openly judging somebody they don’t even know, simply because of the way they look think twice.
Explaining that her ‘fat body’ as allowed her to achieve more than this ‘small minded’ man could ever dream of, she lists the experiences that have made her her, and goes on to clarify that she will not be put off from achieving her goal of completing a 10k.
