The atmosphere at London's Southbank centre was electric with empowerment last night, at the first London event held by Hearst UK's new digital brand, Hearst Empowering Women.
Host Miranda Sawyer warmed up the crowd, sharing her own (x-rated) stories of how she found empowerment despite working in a sexist industry, before introducing the panel of star editors from Hearst UK’s leading brands: Good Housekeeping’s Lindsay Nicholson, Cosmopolitan’s Louise Court, Digital Spy’s David Moynihan, Red’s Sarah Bailey, and Elle’s Lorraine Candy.
The panel shared their views and experiences regarding equality, empowerment, and enlightened men, at times drawing gasps of astonishment, cheers of delight, and peals of laughter from the floor – not to mention some incisive questions, too.
