A survey has found the nation's favourite bedtime stories. From new staples like The Gruffalo to old classics like Charlotte's Web, according to a survey by Betta Living, these are the top ten books children under 10 are reading in 2014.

The top of the bedtime stories pile is the 1999 release, The Gruffalo.

The story, that follows a mouse's unlikely journey through the woods, frightening all those he passes - including the fearsome Gruffalo - has grown in popularity since the successful animation was created.
