Practical and chic: Claudia Winkleman's excellent Traitors boots are still in stock, and are surprisingly affordable

Claudia Winkleman’s wardrobe never fails to catch our attention, and here at GH, we simply can’t get enough of it. So much so, that we’ve already – and will continue to – dissect her Celebrity Traitors wardrobe, a selection of pieces brimming with high fashion staples. Yet, despite her enviable line up of designer staples, the TV host still makes space for the high street. Most recently, Winkleman was spotted wearing a pair of boots from trusted British heritage brand Hunter. And yes, they’re actually wellies, and come in at a much fairer price.

Far from your standard river-wading or puddle-dodging pair, the Refined Riding Tall Wellington Boots strike an excellent balance between practicality and polish. Constructed from waterproof rubber but designed with the elegance of a riding boot, they feature a chic two-tone matte finish in black and brown, complete with a statement buckle detail.

Proving that even the humblest of boots can be worn as a fashion statement and not just as a practical style, Winkleman paired the wellies with a Chloé herringbone wool jacket, a ruffle-sleeve blouse from the same label (which peeks out at the sleeves) and skinny, soft-caramel trousers. The result? A masterclass in autumnal dressing.

Instead, we suggest pairing the boots with a similar slim fit style, such as a pair of royal-approved cigarette jeans, a cool scarf cardigan and a cape coat for protection from the October chill. Alternatively, wear a funnel-neck jacket: we’ve found plenty of those, too.
