“A group of hunters become bait“: Apple TV+’s The Hunt is the paranoid thriller blurring justice and revenge

From Slow Horses to The Studio, Smoke and The Morning Show, Apple TV+ has been treating us to no end of quality entertainment. And we’re thrilled to see that the streamer is releasing a paranoid thriller, The Hunt, in which a group of hunters become bait, when they’re hunted themselves – and, intriguingly, it’s set to blur the lines of justice and revenge.

The Hunt is a French language drama (not to worry, there are subtitles!), titled Traqués in its native language. It follows Franck (Benoît Magimel) and his group of friends whose favourite hobby is hunting at the weekends. However, things take a terrifying turn when, one day, they find themselves becoming hunted – by a group who start targeting them without warning. What ensues is a web of violence and paranoia, causing Franck and his wife Krystel (Mélanie Laurent) to believe they’re being followed by a group who are now out for revenge.

What is The Hunt about?

The six-part Apple TV+ series follows Franck (Benoît Magimel) and his group of close friends who enjoy hunting together at the weekends. One day, they are shocked to find another group of hunters – who are targeting them without explanation – and one of their party is shot.

The Hunt’s official synopsis continues: “Franck’s friends strike back, sending an attacker to the ground. Barely managing to escape, the four friends keep the event a secret. Franck tries to go back to his life as usual alongside his wife, Krystel (Mélanie Laurent), but in the next few days, he starts to feel like he and his friends are being watched, or worse, tracked by hunters who are now hell-bent on revenge.”

How can I watch The Hunt?

Good news – we have a date! Apple TV+ will release The Hunt on Wednesday 3 December with the first two episodes. After that, one episode will drop weekly until 31 December.
