Apple TV+ is adapting another of Mick Herron’s novels (his debut, Down Cemetery Road) and the details have got us more than a little excited. Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson are leading the cast as struggling Oxford private eye Zoë Boehm (Thompson) and Sarah Tucker (Wilson), who becomes obsessed with the whereabouts of a child she believes to have gone missing.

What is Down Cemetery Road about?
If you’re a fan of Mick Herron’s 2003 novel of the same name, you’ll likely be familiar with the story, but if you’re not, you’ll be pleased to know it’s a good ‘un. According to the official synopsis, it all starts with a house explosion in a quiet Oxford suburb.
"When a house explodes in a quiet Oxford suburb and a girl disappears in the aftermath, neighbour Sarah Tucker (Ruth Wilson) becomes obsessed with finding her and enlists the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Emma Thompson)," it reads.
"Zoë and Sarah suddenly find themselves in a complex conspiracy that reveals that people long believed dead are still among the living, while the living are fast joining the dead."
Creative director, Europe, Apple TV+ has it has "all the hallmarks of Mick Herron’s funny and acerbic writing" and that “Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson will make it an unmissable companion piece for Slow Horses on our service."

The eight-part series will launch on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Wednesday 29th October, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through to 10th December.
