It would appear that there's very little Dolly Parton can't do. The legend herself sings, is a songwriter, a multi-instrumentalist, an actress and a businesswoman.
Now the iconic country singer is to release her debut novel: Run, Rose, Run.
Dolly has teamed up with best-selling author James Patterson to write the book which will be accompanied by an album in March next year.
What to read next
"All-new songs were written based on the characters and situations in the book," Dolly said. I hope you enjoy the book and the songs as much as we've enjoyed putting it all together."
Dolly added on Instagram: "I've combined my love of storytelling and books with the release of #RunRoseRun, a novel I've co-authored with @jamespattersonbooks!"
The story follows a young woman who moves to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career in music, and also features the lyrics from the 12-song album.
James Patterson has written two books with former US President Bill Clinton and is famous for his Alex Cross, Michael Bennett and Women's Murder Club series.
Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls - from his Alex Cross series - have been adapted into hit films.
"It's an honour - and a hell of a lot of fun - to work with the inimitable Dolly Parton, whom I've long admired for her music, her storytelling, and her enormous generosity," James said.
"The mind-blowing thing about this project is that reading the novel is enhanced by listening to the album and vice versa. It's a really unique experience that I know readers (and listeners) will love".
Run, Rose, Run, will be released in March 2022.
