Follow our easy hack for home-made soft serve vanilla ice cream

Use the best-quality custard you can get in this incredibly easy ice cream recipe. For a stronger flavour, you could stir through a tbsp of vanilla bean paste before freezing, if you like. Serve in waffle or wafer cones with your choice of sauce and sprinkles.
Ingredients
- 500 g
tub fresh vanilla custard
Directions
- Step 1Line a freezer-proof container or small baking dish with baking parchment. Pour in the custard and smooth to level. Cover and freeze for at least 4hr, or until frozen solid.
- Step 2Tip the frozen custard on to a chopping board and peel off the baking parchment. Carefully chop the custard into smaller pieces.
- Step 3Whizz the custard pieces in a food processor until smooth, this will take a few minutes. Pipe or spoon into cones and serve.
