Homemade gifts are great, particularly when they're food-related, as they're delicious and super easy to do. If you're after a DIY foodie present that's not as perishable as baked goods, try our brownie-in-a-jar gift.
What you'll need for 16 slices of brownies:
- 150g (5oz) dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids), chopped
- 300g (11oz) caster sugar
- 75g (3oz) plain flour
- 40g (1½oz) cocoa powder
- 1L mason jar
- A pretty ribbon and a gift tag

Step 1: Add the plain flour first, and give it shake to ensure it's level.
Step 2: Next is cocoa powder. Once you've poured it into the jar, wipe down the sides with a piece of tissue to ensure no dust is left.
Step 3: Then add the sugar, and the chocolate pieces.
Step 4: On a gift tag, write: 'You'll also need 175g unsalted butter and 3 medium eggs.' You can also direct them to our ultimate brownies recipe, or write the instructions on a pretty recipe card seperately.
Step 5: Attach the gift tag and tie on some festive ribbon.
