We'd just got over the excitement of Aldi's 10 strong gin range landing into stores, and now the budget supermarket has announced it's adding to its collection, revealing a gingerbread gin just in time for the festive season.

Aldi's new Gingerbread Gin Liqueur (£9.99) will be available in stores, and online, from 1 October, and it sounds absolutely delicious.

With warming notes of ginger, cinnamon, vanilla and orange, they recommend serving it with a splash of tonic water, or neat over ice.

And they expect the new tipple to be a big hit with shoppers, with the brand selling 12,500 bottles of gin a day as the UK's thirst for the spirit doesn't look set to slow down.

Other new gins available in the supermarket include Harrison's Cucumber Gin (£15.99), McQueen Sweet Citrus Gin (£19.99), The Infusionist Passionfruit Gin Liqueur (£9.99), Oliver Cromwell Pink Gin (£10.99), Boyle’s Craft Irish Gin (£19.99), Beckett’s London Dry Gin (£24.99), Colombo No.7 Gin (£19.99) and 58 Gin (£24.99).

And Aldi isn't the only supermarket to release a new flavour. Last month, Lidl announced it was extending its award-winning Hortus range to include a pomegranate version of its famous gin. The perfect combination of fruity and floral, the new gin liqueur joins raspberry and rhubarb & ginger flavours.

Back in June Asda also launched some new gin flavours, with Elderflower & Pink Grapefruit Gin Liqueur (£12), Rhubarb and Ginger Gin Liqueur (£12) and Extra Special Pink Gin (£16) all available in-store and online.

And most recently M&S ventured into Christmas gin territory, launching its own Christmas gin just in time for the festive season. The new tipple is distilled in Edinburgh and blended with a range of spices, including ginger, cardamom and cinnamon, that'll give your G&T a spiced Christmas twist.
