You do not want to mess with President Obama’s guacamole, as The New York Times discovered yesterday.
The whole incident – guacamole-gate as we like to call it – started innocently enough. The newspaper Tweeted a recipe for the Mexican dip, urging readers to add peas to theirs.
Except people were not on board with it – not one little bit. First, users started Tweeting their concerns, such as ‘You don’t put peas in guacamole’ and this:
Then Obama got involved, and it all went a bit downhill. He wrote:
Others took it a bit more personally, with the Texas Republican party also having something to say:
And this user REALLY doesn’t like the idea:
Moral of the story? You just can’t mess with people’s love of avocado… and dips.
