To add variety, Jackie has put her hair in a low ponytail. Where she would usually wear her hair down for work, Jackie feels that she can optimise different hairstyles to keep her look different every day. She is also wearing a bold statement necklace.

Day 1: GH workwear challenge

It’s dress down Friday! Jackie is wearing Converse and a long sleeved top under the shirt. Leaving the shirt undone looks more relaxed. 

At the end of her first week Jackie said:
‘It has saved me a lot of time in the morning – there’s something very liberating about knowing what your basic outfit is going to be. My week has taken me to a posh dinner after work and an important work meeting, and I adapted the outfit for both.

‘The most interesting part is that I have noticed how dull my hair and make-up is, so I have finallly used a red lipstick I was given as a present months ago! The biggest challenge has been keeping on top of washing the three tops so I have a clean shirt every day.’

Feeling refreshed after the bank holiday weekend, Jackie is wearing a navy, woollen jumper and casual pink, snake skin pumps. Over the weekend she washed both pairs of trousers and all three tops ready for the week.

She has had her make-up done by Bobbi Brown who have used brown shades on the eye, combined with warmer, spring tones on the skin, to make Jackie look fresh yet glamorous for both work and going out.

The challenge is complete! Jackie says, ‘I have mixed feelings – I am looking forward to not being restricted but it’s been so great having an outfit at my fingertips. I think this outfit will become my default for when nothing else feel quite right and I suspect I’ll fall back on my default more often than I plan to!'
 
3 lessons learnt:
1. Be brave enough to experiment more with hair and make-up.
2. No-one really notices what you’re wearing so wear what makes you feel good.
3. White shirts aren't so bad after all!
