If we weren’t already daydreaming about our next getaway, Halle Berry has certainly given us every reason to start. The Oscar-winning actress has been soaking up the sun on a tropical getaway to celebrate her 59th birthday in style – and she’s just shared the ultimate age-defying holiday photo album.
In one post, Halle digs her feet into the sandy tropical beach, looking every bit as fabulous in a bikini as she did when she emerged from the sea as Bond girl Jinx. She captions the shot: ‘We have to get older, but we don’t have to get old 🤌🏽’
It’s a sentiment we couldn’t agree more with. Here at GH, we’re all about embracing midlife to the fullest — and judging by the comments, Halle’s fans feel the same. One posted: ‘Older — like a rare fine wine 🍷😍’, meanwhile, fellow actor Mario Lopez added: ‘Halle we’re not getting older, we’re levelling up… 🔥’

A further scroll through her holiday album (five days of pure bliss, from an undisclosed tropical location) shows exactly why Halle is feeling so positive about turning 59.
The celebrations started with a cheeky kiss to the camera, the actress looking effortlessly fresh-faced and gorgeous, with her wavy bob adorned with a flower crown. The look was completed by a fresh pink, ‘soap’ manicure — an ‘au naturale but better’ colour that has long been loved by celebrities like Victoria Beckham.
And while a grey day on holiday might dampen most people’s spirits, Halle didn’t let the clouds stop the party. Instead, she took a dip in the pool in a red lingerie set — after all, who needs a bikini?
When the clouds parted, Halle shared a sun-soaked selfie, lying in bed. She showed off a totally bare face and looked as gorgeous as ever - the lack of makeup letting her natural beauty shine through.
This age positivity attitude is exactly what we’ve come to expect from Halle, a woman who has never shied away from the topic of getting older. Just a week ago, she shared a video celebrating the menopause with pride (and some dance moves thrown in there for good measure).
Previously, Halle spoke candidly about the double standards of ageing in an interview with Fortune Magazine, saying: ‘Men get old, they get grey hair, they’re silver foxes. We’re just old, we’re haggard, and society has told us that our time is up, ’ she continued, ‘Well, I know that we’re just getting our groove’
One thing’s for sure, we can get behind Halle’s outlook on ageing — the best is yet to come!
