You’d expect a resemblance between a mother and her daughter, but the genes must be exceptionally strong in Reese Witherspoon’s family. The actress has shared a beautiful photo alongside her mother, Betty, and the pair are so alike that people are calling it ‘freaky’ and a ‘copy paste’.
The Legally Blonde star posted a series of adorable snaps of herself with her mother, Betty, who is celebrating her birthday in glamorous style. The duo are seen posing at a table together, where they’re clearly sharing more than just a plate of celebratory cupcakes.
Followers have been taken aback by Reese and Betty’s near-identical smile, chin and eyes, with Sharon Stone being one of the first to comment on the lookalike pair. ‘Omg you’re twins 🎁’ she wrote.

The lippy in question is Westman Atelier Lip Suede Matte Lipstick, the creation of legendary makeup artist Gucci Westman, and a great, flattering bet for mature women. As well as giving great pigment pay-off in a single swipe, the lipstick is packed with hyaluronic for plumping and kaolin clay to stop it feathering. Betty’s beaming smile says it all.
By the way, it’s not just this generation that the DNA run strong in. The sturdy Witherspoon genes have been remarked upon whenever Reese appears alongside her actress daughter, Ava.
Interestingly, Ava, 25, has switched up her hair from blonde to brunette in the past year but the facial resemblance remains uncanny. Nice try, Ava, but there are some genetics you can’t hide from.
