  • Mandy's This Is Us cast mates reacted to the big news on Instagram.

Mandy Moore is heading back to the small screen — and she's doing it with someone who previously helped her take her acting to the next level.

Fans of the actress know she famously played Rebecca Pearson on This Is Us. While the hit drama ended back in 2022, Mandy has since appeared in projects like Dr. Death season 2 on Peacock. But is there another phase in her career we don't know about yet? Well, it looks like we're about to get another dose of Mandy on TV—and it may be sooner than we think.

According to a report from Deadline on August 18, Mandy is joining This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman as a series regular on an untitled football drama for Hulu. What's more, she'll join a cast that already features Law and Order: Organized Crime star Christopher Meloni and Shameless actor William H. Macy.

As for how Mandy feels about reuniting with her former This Is Us boss for this new TV project, she went on her Instagram story to relay an exciting message. "Elated is an understatement," she wrote. "Reunited with Dan, Jess [Rosenthal] and my 20th family? Very grateful and can't wait to get to work."

It looks like Mandy isn't the only one excited about the new TV gig. Dan also shared the news in a joint Instagram post—and it didn't take long for other This Is Us cast members to comment.

"LFG!!!!!!!" Sterling K. Brown (who portrayed Randall Pearson) shouted. "Excitable!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉," Chrissy Metz (who played Kate Pearson) cheered.

And just like the This Is Us crew, fans were equally excited to see Mandy get back to TV once again.

"Mandy + NFL + Dan Fogelman?!! This might be my dream come true! So exciting! 🙌🏼," one person exclaimed. "Count. Me. ALL. In! 🙌🔥❤️," another declared. "Yayyyyy, so excited about this reunion 😍😍," a different follower added.

So, what will Mandy's role be on Dan's new football drama? According to Variety, the actress will play the daughter of William's character, who's an owner of a NFL team. As for Christopher's part, he's set to play the head coach of said football team.

Consider us excited and we can't wait to welcome back Mandy to our TV screens very soon!
