Our editors are spying steep discounts on two of the Good Housekeeping Institute Kitchen Lab's top-tested Nespresso machines.
Nespresso VertuoPlus Coffee and Espresso Machine
The first October Prime Day deal right now is on our experts' best overall pick, the Nespresso VertuoPlus. The GH Institute's Kitchen Lab Director Nicole Papantoniou was impressed by the versatility of this model, since it can make both espresso drinks and regular brewed coffee. It uses the brand's Vertuo capsules, which feature a unique barcode that gets "read" by the machine to brew your coffee—meaning all you need to do is press a button to create any drink of choice.
Not only is this machine easy to use, but it creates great-tasting coffee, too. In our Kitchen Lab tests, every single drink—from ristrettos to brewed coffee—came out with a frothy crema. Some testers added that they didn't feel the need to add milk to their coffee, even though they normally would.
Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ Coffee and Espresso Maker

The Nespresso Vertuo POP+ is more compact than other Vertuo models and comes in a range of neutral and bright colors—making it a great pick for college students or those with limited counter space. What's more, it's compatible with Nespresso's XL Vertuo capsules, so you can use it to make cold brew concentrate in addition to your regular coffees and espresso shots.
Compared to the Vertuo Plus, the Vertuo POP+ requires slightly more manual operation to insert drink capsules. Plus, it has a lower clearance beneath its dispenser than the Vertuo Plus, so you'll need to use shorter cups. Lastly, it has a much smaller water reservoir (24.5 oz vs 60 oz), so you'll need to refill it more often.
