Sara Haines may be gearing up for a new season of The View, but that's not the only thing she has going on in the world of television.

Fans of the ABC morning show are familiar with seeing her on their screens every weekday morning. But periodically, Sara has other projects in the works ... and she's working on something that will reveal a lot about who she is as a person.

Thanks to a surprise announcement made on August 19, Sara will star on season 12 of the hit PBS series Finding Your Roots. With new episodes set to premiere beginning January 6, 2026 on PBS, the show's host Henry Louis Gates Jr. expressed his excitement about what's to come on the program

"SEASON 12!! 💜," he wrote about the news on Instagram on August 19. "Swipe to see this incredible lineup of guests for our all-new season of #FindingYourRoots!"

When folks saw that Sara would be featured as one of the celebrity guests on Finding Your Roots, they couldn't stop talking about it online.

"Wow! What a great lineup of guests! So excited …. ," one person wrote in the comments. "I am so glad for a new season. Cannot wait!" another declared. "January can’t come fast enough!!" a different follower added.

Now, this is something we definitely need to tune in and watch out for! And as it turns out, Sara isn't the only familiar face viewers will get to see when Finding Your Roots returns to TV this January.

Along with Sara, different episodes will feature Broadway superstar Kristin Chenoweth, actress America Ferrera, The Bear star Liza Colón-Zayas, singer Lizzoand other famous names. And as for how Henry feels outside of his initial Instagram post, the host is excited to dig into the personal histories of the celebrities he had the chance to work with this season.

"I am thrilled to announce another season of Finding Your Roots," he stated in an official press release, per People. "Filled with inspiring stories from our wonderful guests that further show us that at the level of the genome, we are all 99% the same despite the forces that try to divide us."

We certainly can't wait to see Sara on Finding Your Roots very soon!
