Andie MacDowell is cluing her fans in on the special way she recently honored the ones she loves most.
The Way Home star is pretty open when it comes to her thoughts and feelings about love, family, and motherhood. But she recently decided to honor her son Justin and daughters Rainey and Margaret Qualley (all three of whom she shares with ex-husband Paul Qualley) like we've never seen before.
Sharing a Facebook photo of herself from a May L'Oreal Paris dinner to honor women in cinema, folks got to see Andie's small tattoo of an angel wing on her upper back. As for the reason behind the unique ink, it came with a sentimental story of getting it done at Margaret's 2023 wedding to music producer Jack Antonoff.
"OK, the tattoo I got it at my daughter’s wedding last year," the Hallmark actress wrote in the caption on August 7. "It was about 11:45, and she had a tattoo artist for the party. I put an angel wing on my shoulder to represent motherhood, and I think of my child as an angel. All of them, really. Precious angels to me, and that is what my father used to call me. His precious angel. So so many reasons for the angel wing!"
When fans learned of the heartfelt reason behind Andie's special tattoo, they immediately had thoughts of support for her.
"A beautiful way to honor motherhood and it looks lovely," one person wrote in the comments. "I love that! Our children are our precious angels," another declared. "I love how personal and meaningful your tattoo is. It's a wonderful way to celebrate motherhood 💕," a different follower added.
What a special way for Andie to always have her kids with her!
