• Hart of Dixie premiered on the CW Network in 2011.
  • After four seasons on the air, the CW cancelled Hart of Dixie in 2015.
  • Star Scott Porter spoke out on if Hart of Dixie could come back for a reboot.

Back in 2011, TV watchers were transported to the fictional town of Bluebell, Alabama with the premiere of the CW series Hart of Dixie.

Exploring the life of a New York surgeon named Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson), the series followed her as she discovers her long-lost father has passed away. But the true kicker of the show's premise? It turns out she's now part-owner of a medical practice down South — and she decides she's going to take a shot at being a doctor in a place she never expected to love.

Amid watching Zoe go through moments of love and heartbreak as well as medical hijinks, viewers also met some of the eccentric folks residing in Bluebell, like George Tucker (played by Ginny and Georgia and Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter) and Dr. Brick Breeland (portrayed by Virgin River actor Tim Matheson). And despite the show gaining a loyal following throughout its time on TV, the CW decided to cancel Hart of Dixie after four seasons in 2015.

Even though it's been a decade since the series last aired a new episode, viewers still want to know if Hart of Dixie is coming back for a reboot. Well, Scott had some thoughts about the idea — and you won't believe what he had to say.

When Scott sat down with Us Weekly for an interview promoting Ginny and Georgia season 3, it was only natural the conversation would turn to a reboot of Hart of Dixie. As Scott noted to the publication, the show gained traction from new viewers during the height of COVID-19 for an interesting reason.

"You know, the last couple of years, back in 2020 especially, everyone was inside and locked away and it was like they were trying to find places to escape to," he stated in a clip posted on TikTok on June 10. "There's no better place than Bluebell to go to. All your worries go away when you're watching Hart of Dixie."

But that's not all Scott had to say about about the subject. When asked if there's a chance for Hart of Dixie to come back in the form of a reboot, he seemed optimistic about the idea.

"It's just so funny what happens with timing in this world, you know?" he added. "Maybe if we would've been ending closer to that beginning, they would've just brought us back. But revivals happen all the time. We'll see what happens."

Clearly fans were into the thought of a Hart of Dixie reboot, since they bombarded the comments section with their reactions.

"BRING BACK HART OF DIXIE," one person screamed. "I would love a revival, don’t tease me George Tucker 😭," another begged. "I JUST watched heart of Dixie a few weeks ago for the first time. I loved it and need more. It’s a comfort show," a different viewer added.

So, does this mean there's a chance for a Hart of Dixiereboot? It looks like we'll have to keep our fingers crossed for this to come true!
