While professional organizers spend a lot of time maintaining order at home, their cars matter, too. They're all about avoiding clutter — but they also like to be prepared when they're on the go. From the morning commute to roadtripping with the family, we spend a lot of time in the car and certain essentials will make these trips more enjoyable. It's also important to be prepared in the case of an emergency.
We asked four professional organizers about the items they keep in their car, and to share tips for maintaining a clutter-free interior. They recommend everything from tissues and emergency kits to smart trunk storage solutions. When deciding what to keep in the car, the pros urge you to consider your daily routine and keep the necessities to a minimum as much as possible. "If it can't fit inside the center console or glove box, it might be more than you need," says Emily Mass, owner of Spaces by Emily.
