The only thing better than one clever Halloween costume is two Halloween costumes. If you're looking for a duo costume for you and your bestie, or a couples costume for you and your better half, it has to be creative, easy, and, for the most part, recognizable!
Dressing up on Halloween is always more fun with your bestie or your better half by your side. So we curated this list below, with creative picks that—in most cases—are relatively easy to DIY and pull off. Choose to go scary, funny, or classic superhero. As long as you have your partner in crime with you, you can’t go wrong.
Tinned Fish Costume (DIY)
Sure, they're great on salads or as a quick snack, but tinned fish can also be the ideal duo getup.
Get the look (tin):
You'll want to cut two large rectangles of the same size from cardboard sheets, using a craft knife or box cutter. Next, round the corners to create the shape of the tin box.
From the top third of one cardboard rectangle, cut out an opening for your head and two fish heads.
Paint the front and back of each rectangle with a few coats of craft paint and let that dry completely. Add details like a "Sardines" label, a fish, and some waves.
Add googly eyes, cupcake liner scales, and silver pipe cleaners to the fish heads using hot glue.
Attach a rolled up sheet of gray paper to the front of the tin, and add a “key” made from more pipe cleaners.
Secure the two sheets of cardboard together with straps that will rest on shoulders.
Get the look (fish):
Start with a gray hoodie sweatshirt (one with a zipper front will be easiest to wear) and gray bottoms.
Fold foil cupcake liners in half in shades of silver, blue, and black, then layer the “scales” down the front and back of the hoodie and attach with hot glue, overlapping along the way.
Cut a tail shape from gray felt, and glue to the bottom edge of the hoodie. Continue to layer the cupcake liners on the tail, and finish off the fins with silver pipe cleaners attached with hot glue.
Glue a pair of giant googly eyes to the hood of the sweat shirt and trim with more silver pipe cleaners.
Beanie Babies Costume (DIY)
'90s kids will get a kick out of this. Deck out your favorite sweatsuits and go as Beanie Babies.
Get the look:
Cut out felt ears and attach them to the hood with hot glue. Cut a heart-shaped tag out of red cardstock to and punch a hole at the edge, and tie it around your neck with red ribbon. Don't forget a pair of round sunnies to pull it all together. It'll be your coziest look yet!
Crocs Costume (DIY)
If you're going for a comfy look, you might as well break out the Crocs. And this costume really lets them shine.
Get the look:
Trace and cut out the shape of a Croc using an X-Acto knife or box cutter out of a sheet of cardboard. Cut one large hole in the upper center for your face and cut seven smaller holes around it. Cut another strip of cardboard and fold the edges to create your strap. Paint your Croc and strap with a few coats of craft paint. Using hot glue, attach your strap to the base of the shoe and then outline your Croc with a lighter or darker shade of paint. Create your Jibbitz from craft foam or paper and hot glue them onto the holes. Once everything is dry, attach backpack-style straps to the back of the shoe with thick ribbon and hot glue.
Glimore Girls Costume
Transport to Stars Hallow with these Lorelai and Rory Gimore costumes. Don't forget to grab a cup of joe for added authenticity.
Peppa Pig and George
Peppa and her baby brother make one iconic duo. To recreate their outfits make sure you grab your rain boots. Craft pig snouts out of construction paper and popsicle sticks.
Dionne and Cher Halloween Costume

Martini and Cosmo
Are there any other two more iconic drinks to be sipping at a party? We think not. Grab your best LBD, a cocktail glass, and easily recreate the collars here by tracing the outline of a rainbow-type shape on a thin clear acrylic sheet. Then, paint a thin coat on the plastic, leaving the top five inches paint-free. Allow the paint to dry. Then, attach velcro to the overlapping section and wear the cone loosely around your neck.

Retro Music (DIY)
There are three options here, but you can go with the two that speak the most to your personalities.
Get the look (record):
Cut out 2 large cardboard circles from a box. Cover both sides of circles with black spray paint and let dry completely.
While circles are drying, print out 2 copies of our record label template. Cut out labels and glue 1 to the center of each black cardboard circle.
To create shoulder and chest straps, measure length needed; for each strap, place 2 strips of black duct tape, sticky sides together.
Tape straps to cardboard on front and back so costume will slip easily over wearer’s head. Use a paint pen to draw on record grooves.
Get the look (mixtape):
Cut 2 large rectangles from the cardboard box. Spray paint both sides of the circles with teal spray paint.
While this dries, print out 2 copies of our cassette label template. Cut out the label and glue it to the center of the cardboard rectangles.
Using a black permanent maker, follow the template provided to add the cassette shapes and outlines. Use the directions above (in the record instructions) to create shoulder and chest straps.
Tape to the cardboard front and back so you can easily slip it over your head.
Get the look (disco ball):
Cut 2 large circles from the cardboard box. Spray paint both sides of the circles with silver spray paint and let dry completely. While this dries, cut out 1" x 2" foil rectangles.
Tear 1/2" wide strips of duct tape and place foil rectangles on sticky side so the majority of the foil hangs off (so it looks like a banner of flags).
Starting at the bottom, stick the tape/foil banner across the silver cardboard circle so the layer above overlaps the layer below. This will create a tiled effect.
Trim or fold back the tape around the edge of the circle to maintain the round "disco ball" shape. Complete 2 circles for the front and back.
Use the directions above (in the record instructions) to create shoulder and chest straps.
Tape to the cardboard front and back so you can easily slip it over your head.
