Gochujang, a Korean pepper paste, gives this classic dish extra flair.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup

    soy sauce

  • 1/3 cup

    rice wine

  • 2 Tbsp.

    gochujang (Korean pepper paste)

  • 1 Tbsp.

    toasted sesame seeds

  • 1

    medium onion, sliced

  • 2

    cloves garlic, smashed

  • 2

    scallions, chopped

  • 2 lb.

    country-style ribs (about 12 ribs)

Directions

    1. Step 1In large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice wine, brown sugar, and gochujang. Stir in sesame seeds, onion, garlic, and scallions. 
    2. Step 2Add ribs, turn to coat and refrigerate, covered, at least 2 hours and up to overnight. 
    3. Step 3Heat grill to medium-high. Remove ribs from marinade and grill until just cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes per side.
