Heads up, Peaky Blinders fans—you won't believe what Cillian Murphy had to say about the future of the franchise.
Back in 2024, viewers of the hit drama were ecstatic to learn the show was living on with a sequel film called The Immortal Man for Netflix. And while details behind what the movie will fully be about are under wraps, there's one thing we do know: Cillian is back to portray Tommy Shelby.
And on October 5 while promoting his new film, Steve, on The Graham Norton Show, Cillian surprisingly dropped a major clue about when the new Peaky Blinders movie will come out. Despite not being able to give everything away, he told host Graham Norton The Immortal Man is set to hit Netflix sooner than fans may think.
"Listen, also returning is Peaky Blinders," Graham stated to the audience. "Cillian! So, is the movie done?"
"Yeah," Cillian replied.
"And when is the movie going to be in the world?" Graham inquired.
"Next year," Cillian stated.
As soon as folks realized Cillian had some remarks about The Immortal Man's release date, they immediately had thoughts about it.
"I can't wait to see the movie, omg," one person wrote in the YouTube comments. "I am so going to see that. I have not been to the cinema in absolutely years and years, but PB will be the exception," another agreed. "I can't wait for Peaky Blinders film 😍," a different follower added.
And this is all coming as viewers discovered that a sequel Peaky Blinders series is also in the works alongside The Immortal Man. Set in Birmingham in 1953 ,and already renewed for two seasons, show creator Steven Knight told Netflix's Tudum on October 2 he's ready to tell a brand-new chapter in the hit franchise.
"I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story," he told the publication. "Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel, and it will be a hell of a ride."
We're so excited about all of this!
