9 BJ's Membership Rules and Perks You May Not Know

Once you've signed up for a personal membership, you can get a free household card for someone else in your family. There's also the option to purchase up to three additional memberships under the primary account.

Spotted your favorite body wash or pasta sauce on sale and clipped the coupons? Know that BJ's has the right to limit the number you purchase during one shopping trip. The retailer also doesn't offer rain checks on out-of-stock products.

If your BJ's membership no longer works for you, you can get a refund at any time. This can be done at your local warehouse or by sending a letter to: BJ’s Wholesale Club, Inc., Attn: Membership, P.O. Box 9157, Marlborough, MA 01752.

Unlike other stores, shoppers can use manufacturer coupons along with those from BJ's. But there's one thing to note from the retailer, though: "One (1) BJ's Coupon per offer can be combined with one (1) National Coupon on a single selling unit, and the total value of all coupons redeemed against a single selling unit may not exceed the BJ's retail value of the selling unit."

According to BJ's' policy, members are given up to one year to return general merchandise—think furniture, baby gear, sports equipment, etc. You'll have 90 days to return items like undamaged televisions, laptops, and electric bikes (it's 14 days if the items are found to be damaged once they've been inspected).

Additionally, there are items like gift cards, opened massage chairs, alcohol, and prescription eyewear, that are not eligible for return.

BJ's members can save about 20 cents per gallon on gas once your BJ's membership card is scanned at the pump. Just be sure to check BJ.com to find out which locations in your area have gas stations.

If you're not a member, you can purchase a one-day pass to shop on BJs.com. One-day passes are also offered in store, but you'll have to pay a 20% surcharge on your purchase.

BJ's allows members to return online purchases at a store. Pricey and large items purchased online have to be exchanged or returned at a BJ's warehouse rather than by mail.

If you have the highest updated membership, the Club+ Card or the Business Club+, you can get two same-day deliveries a year on orders over $50. The membership is twice as much as the regular one per year, but you also get 2% in rewards on eligible items.
