It's official: Mayim Bialik is back in the world of The Big Bang Theory. Well, sort of.
It's been six years since the CBS sitcom ended after 12 seasons, and fans continue to want more stories from the original cast. Well, Mayim decided to surprise fans with a nostalgic way to keep The Big Bang Theory alive.
Posting an announcement on Instagram on July 23, the former Jeopardy! host revealed she created a Substack to share behind-the-scenes moments from her time on The Big Bang Theory. What's more, Mayim plans to use the site to regale more stories from her time portraying Amy Farrah Fowler.
"Hey Big Bang fans," she wrote in the caption. "I have been telling you to come over to Substack … NOW IS THE TIME!!!!! I just posted a special post with BTS details of a bunch of my personal TBBT photos! This is ONLY available on Substack!!!! Click the link in my bio and subscribe to the Bialik Breakdown Substack for photos and posts exclusive for Substack fans!"
Given how beloved Mayim was on The Big Bang Theory, the actress' surprise reveal had fans in a total frenzy on social media.
"GIRL DO YOU WANNA MAKE ME CRYY? I MISS YOU SOOO MUCH," one person lamented in the comments. "How fun!!! Thanks for sharing! 😍," another declared. "I miss BBT so much. Watching it for 10x already still I’m laughing with all the jokes 😢😢," a different follower added.
Fans may remember Mayim first joined The Big Bang Theory during the season 3 finale back in 2010. This sparked a longterm stint on the show, and she eventually became a well-loved cast member. Fans also got to see Mayim portray Amy one more time when she appeared in the Young Sheldon series finale with Jim Parsons (who portrayed Sheldon Cooper).
Now, would Mayim ever consider playing Amy again for another TBBT spinoff? As she told Us Weekly in January 2025, it's never say never.
"I love being known as that character and I love what it means to people," she explained at the time. "So for me, it would be a thrill to be part of it in any way. It was a really, really fun experience to be part of that on Young Sheldon. I also get to interact with [creators] Steven [Molaro] and Steve [Holland] and a lot of our writers and producers, so it's a whole world that I still feel very connected to."
We can't wait to see what tales Mayim has in store for us!
