My Life with the Walter Boys is a Netflix coming-of-age series following 15-year-old Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez), whose life has been flipped upside down. Struck by her parents’ and sister’s sudden deaths, Jackie is forced to leave her fast-paced New York City life for a ranch in the fictional rural town of Silver Falls, Colorado.

In Silver Falls, Jackie lives with Katherine Walter (Sarah Rafferty), her mother’s best friend since college, and her seven sons and daughter. While trying to adjust to country life and a full house, Jackie develops a strong connection with the Walter family — but mainly with two of the boys, Alex (Ashby Gentry) and Cole (Noah LaLonde), with whom she enters a love triangle as the show progresses.

My Life with the Walter Boys is based on a book of the same name written by Ali Novak and initially published on the self-publishing platform Wattpad in 2010. In 2014, it was officially published by Sourcebooks Fire.

Is My Life with the Walter Boys coming back for season 2?

Yes! Season two of My Life with the Walter Boys wrapped its production in late 2024, and filming took place in Calgary, Canada. By June, the actors had already begun sharing the big news on Instagram.

“i can’t tell you how many bales of hay i loaded onto that truck. SZN 2 OTW 🤠😭🥰” reads the caption on Ashby’s Instagram post featuring snippets from season two. One of the photos shows Ahsby as Alex and Noah as Cole loading bales of hay on a truck.

On August 5, 2025, an official trailer was released.

What is the release date for My Life with the Walter Boys season 2?

Season 2 of My Life with the Walter Boys premieres on Netflix on August 28, 2025.

Weeks after an initial post announcing that season 2 was coming soon, Nikki posted the trailer on her Instagram.

“Season 2 AUGUST 28th 🤠” the caption reads.

What will My Life with the Walter Boys season 2 be about?

By the end of season one, following a breakup with Alex and a kiss with Cole, we see Jackie boarding a plane back to New York. The ambiguous scene leaves us wondering if she’ll ever go back to Silver Falls and which Walter boy she will give her heart to. However, it also hinted at the possibility of Jackie choosing herself.

In the trailer, we see her return to the Walter ranch after spending the Summer in New York, and having to face her fear of losing her newfound family as a consequence of the complicated love triangle with Alex and Cole. Jackie is trying to find her place back in the Walter family, but this becomes a more difficult task as she tries to set boundaries with the two boys. Alex, who is now preparing to compete in a high-stakes rodeo, is receiving new romantic attention, and Cole, tired of “being a failure,” has decided to give college a shot.

While Jackie seems to be trying to make amends and set boundaries with the brothers, the trailer hints that the old flames haven't died down, and both Walter boys still have feelings for Jackie.

Ali Novak released a sequel to the first book in April 2025 titled My Return to the Walter Boys, which also follows Jackie returning to the ranch after a summer in New York. However, the show will go in a different direction from the book, rather than using it as inspiration for the second season.

Will there be more seasons of My Life with the Walter Boys?

Yes! Netflix already announced that the show has been renewed for a third season.

Earlier this month, Netflix shared an Instagram reel in which Nikki, Ashby and Noah announced that season three was in production.

“as if waiting for season 2 didn’t test my patience enough.... MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS: SEASON 3 is now in production!!” reads the caption.

And if a third season announcement wasn’t good enough news, Netflix’s Tudum has confirmed that season 3 will premiere in 2026. That’s right, Walter boys fans, no painful two-year-long waits in between seasons (I’m looking at you, Bridgerton).
